First Aid is the immediate assistance or treatment given to someone injured or suddenly taken ill, before the arrival of ambulance or other appropriately qualified person (medical help).
– to preserve life
– to limit worsening of a condition
– to promote recovery

The MALAYSIAN RED CRESCENT SOCIETY, Penang Branch provide First Aid Training courses to individuals and employees of organizations or factories, to enable them to be safety conscious and able to respond & render First Aid treatment if an emergency situation arises.

The Society hopes to be able to achieve the aim to train at least one First Aider in every home as emergency situations may arise in the home and life could be saved by those who have been trained in First Aid.

The Society have been providing packaged courses, with fees charged on a per group basis and the courses are conducted in-house, i.e. the premises of the organizations or factories.

First Aid training is part of the Safety Training programme of the respective organizations and our courses are recognized by all the various Government Ministries.
Organizations contributing to the HRDF are able to claim reimbursement for the cost of the courses from the Human Resource Development Fund.

Two types of First Aid course are offered ( certificate course with examinations ):

1. Introduction to First Aid & CPR – ( 12 hours )
2. Basic First Aid – ( 20 hours )

The certificates are valid for three years from the date of examination and are recognized worldwide.
