Inter Factory First Aid Competition 2009 (Northern Region)

The Malaysian Red Crescent Penang Branch will be organising the 1st Inter – Factory First Aid Competition 2009, for all employees of factories and organisations located in the Northern Region (Penang, Kedah & Perlis) who have attended first aid training conducted by MRC.

This objective of this competition is to promote higher awareness of the importance of first aid in emergency situations and how first aid can play a crucial role in helping to save lives.

ERT members and trained first aiders from the factories and organisations are encouraged to participate as this is an excellent platform to generate further interest in the importance first aid and in the need to have more people trained as first aiders so that more lives can be saved.

There will be awards for the top three winners of the competition and the champion  will have  the privilege  of  keeping  the  Annual Challenge Trophy for a year, to be returned to MRC, 2 months  before  for  this  annual  competition  in next  year.

IMPORTANCE OF FIRST AID TRAINING

First Aid is the immediate assistance or treatment given to someone injured or suddenly taken ill, before the arrival of ambulance or other appropriately qualified person (medical help).
- to preserve life
- to limit worsening of a condition
- to promote recovery

THE OBJECTIVE

The MALAYSIAN RED CRESCENT SOCIETY, Penang Branch provide First Aid Training courses to individuals and employees of organizations or factories, to enable them to be safety conscious and able to respond & render First Aid treatment if an emergency situation arises.

The Society hopes to be able to achieve the aim to train at least one First Aider in every home as emergency situations may arise in the home and life could be saved by those who have been trained in First Aid.

FIRST AID TRAINING COURSES

The Society have been providing packaged courses, with fees charged on a per group basis and the courses are conducted in-house, i.e. the premises of the organizations or factories.

First Aid training is part of the Safety Training programme of the respective organizations and our courses are recognized by all the various Government Ministries.
Organizations contributing to the HRDF are able to claim reimbursement for the cost of the courses from the Human Resource Development Fund.

TYPES OF FIRST AID COURSES FOR ORGANIZATIONS

Two types of First Aid course are offered ( certificate course with examinations ):

1. Introduction to First Aid & CPR - ( 12 hours )
2. Basic First Aid – ( 20 hours )

The certificates are valid for three years from the date of examination and are recognized worldwide.

The First Aid Training courses are conducted by qualified MRCS Instructors with at least five years experience with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society.

  • MRC AWARDS NOMINATIONS 2012
    July 19, 2011 | 5:22 pm

    1. All Chapters must form an Awards Committee chaired by the Chapter Chairman for the selection of nominees. All Awards Committee meeting minutes must be sent to the Branch.

    2. All recommendations from Chapters’ Sub-Committee Chairman, VAD Commandants or Youth Officers must go through the Chapter Chairman.

    3. In accordance to the Nomination Form, the age must be counted based on 1st January of the Year of Birth.

    4. All photographs must be pasted at the designated box on the top right hand corner of the Nomination Form.

    5. All nominees’ position stated must be accordance with the Handbook and Constitution.
